Lucky Dog Software, LLC — effective October 25, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using the Lucky Dog Log apps or website (the “Service”), operated by Lucky Dog Software, LLC (“we,” “us”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

2. The service

Lucky Dog Log is a record of what a dog does — meals, water, walks, elimination, care, medicine, vaccines and measurements — that estimates each dog’s usual rhythm and reminds you when that much time has passed. A dog belongs to a family, and everyone in a family sees every dog in it and can log for them, so one invitation covers the whole house. You can also share a single dog with somebody outside the family — a sitter, a walker, a co-parent — who sees that dog and no other, give a sitter the dogs for a set run of days, or invite somebody to follow a dog’s book, who reads that book and nothing else about her. It also keeps the pictures and short clips you take of a dog, and her vet papers, alongside her log, and reads her pictures as a book of her life that the people around her can write in.

3. Your account

You do not need an account to use the app. If you create one, you are responsible for activity under it and for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Your content

Everything you add — dogs, pictures, clips, vet papers, entries, notes, what you write in a dog’s book, and a photo of yourself — remains yours. You grant us only the limited license needed to store the content you save, sync it to everyone in the dog’s family and to anybody that dog is shared with — and what is in her book to anybody who follows it — and display it to them and to you. You are responsible for having the right to save the content you add, including any document you ask the reader to read.

Signed in, the pictures and clips you keep as moments — with the Moment tile or Import in her book — and the papers in Records share one amount of storage for the whole family, shown in Settings — section 10 says how much. Reaching it never stops you logging and never deletes anything you have kept.

What you write in a dog’s book — a page, a letter, a first, the dedication, “How she came to us” — is read, signed with your name, by everyone who can see that dog and by anybody who follows her book, and you are responsible for it, including what it says about other people. A dog’s book is kept by her whole family: anyone in it can write, change or take out the dedication and the parts of “How she came to us,” and the family’s owner can take any page, letter or first out of the book.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t misuse the Service: no unlawful content, no attempts to break, probe, or overload it, no accessing other people’s data, and no reselling the Service.

6. A log, not a diagnosis

The Service records what you observe. It does not diagnose anything, and it is not veterinary advice. Typical ranges shown beside a weight, a temperature or a blood-glucose reading are general reference values displayed as a cue for you; they are not specific to your dog, and a value outside them is not a finding. Entries and facts proposed by the receipt reader or the label reader are a reading of a document or a package and may be wrong; check them against the thing they were read from before you keep them.

Nothing in the Service replaces your veterinarian. If you are worried about your dog, talk to your vet — and take the log with you.

7. Reminders are estimates

A learned reminder is an estimate of a dog’s usual interval from the entries you have logged; it is only as complete as the log, and it can be early, late, or absent. A reminder you set yourself fires on the schedule you gave it, subject to the device delivering it. The count on the app icon depends on the same delivery: it can lag behind the log or a dog’s book, and opening the app puts it right. Do not rely on the Service as the sole means of administering medication or managing a medical condition.

8. Families, and sharing a dog

Every account has a family of its own from the moment it is created — a family of one, until you invite somebody. A dog belongs to exactly one family, and everyone in that family sees every dog in it and can log for them: each member can add, edit and delete entries, edit a dog’s profile and change its reminders, and the log shows who logged what. Once you sign in, every dog on your phone is stored with us and on your account, so every device you sign in on shows the same log. With no account, nothing leaves your phone.

You invite somebody by email. An invitation is good for fourteen days, can be used once, and needs an account to accept. An invitation to the family covers every dog in it; sharing a single dog with somebody outside the family is separate, and they see that dog and no other.

The family can also give a sitter one or more of its dogs for a set run of days, from one to thirty, the same way. A sitter needs a free account, made in the app. Until the end of the last day she sees those dogs as somebody they are shared with does and can log for them; she can change or delete only what she logged, and she cannot change a dog’s profile or reminders, add to Records, use the AI readers or share the dogs on. The days end by themselves — the dogs leave her devices, with nothing for anybody to do — and the family can change them before then or end them early, and she can leave. What she logged stays in the log, under her name. Giving a sitter the week costs nobody anything.

Anyone in a family can also invite somebody to follow one or more of its dogs’ books, the same way. A follower needs a free account, which can be made in the app or on luckydoglog.com from the invitation. They read the book — its pictures, clips, pages and letters — and can write the dog a letter and react to what others posted; they never see her log, the rest of her profile, Records or the vet report, and they cannot log, invite anybody, or change anybody else’s words or the book’s settings. Anyone in the family can stop sharing a book with a follower, and a follower can leave whenever they like; either way the book leaves their devices, and any letter they wrote stays in it. Following a book costs the follower nothing.

The person who owns a family can rename it, remove somebody from it, hand it on to another member, and delete it; anybody else in it can leave whenever they like. When somebody leaves or is removed, the family’s dogs leave their devices, any dog they added stays with the family, and what they logged stays in the log, under their name, as what they wrote in a dog’s book stays in the book. Deleting an account works the same way: a family with other people in it keeps its dogs and its log, and a family you were alone in is erased along with the account. The app says which applies, family by family, before you confirm.

Deleting a family deletes its dogs, and everything ever logged on them, for everyone in it, and it can’t be undone. Invite only people you trust with the record, and share only dogs — and books — you are responsible for.

9. AI-assisted features

Some features use AI, and they run only when you deliberately ask them to — every one of them is marked with a ✨ before you tap it, and each spends one of a monthly allowance. Nothing in the Service calls an AI model in the background, and nothing about a family spends an allowance: inviting somebody, joining a family, following a book, everything anybody in it logs, and everything anybody writes in a dog’s book cost nothing. Results are proposals, not entries: nothing reaches your log or your dog’s profile until you choose it and save it.

10. The Family plan

Lucky Dog Log is a paid download, and everything described above comes with it. Family is an optional subscription a family can add on top. Today it gives everyone in the family 50 GB of shared storage for pictures and records instead of 5 GB; we may add to what it includes. Any adult in a family can buy it from the iPhone or Android app while signed in; the website does not sell it.

Payment and renewal. Family is sold by the year or by the month through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, at the price the store shows you before you buy. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically, for the same length and at the then-current price, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before that period ends. If the price changes, the store tells you before it applies to a renewal.

Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings, or from Settings › Family › Family plan › Manage subscription in the app, where Restore Purchases also lives. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Family stays until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app, your account or the family does not cancel the subscription — only the store can, and the app says so before you delete your account or a family. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.

It covers one family. The plan belongs to the family it was bought for, and everyone in that family shares it. Handing the family on to a new owner changes nothing. If the person who pays for it leaves the family or is removed, the plan goes with them — to a family they own — and the family they left goes back to the standard storage. App Store Family Sharing does not apply to it.

When a plan ends, nothing you have kept is deleted. Everything already stored stays. If the family is then over the standard storage, new full-size pictures and clips wait on the phone that made them until there is room, and every log entry and record keeps syncing as always.

11. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from inside the app. What a family keeps when you go is in section 8; a Family subscription is cancelled with the store (section 10). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we’ll be reasonable about it.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted, accurate, or error-free.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lucky Dog Software, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim (or $50 if you paid nothing).

14. Changes

We may update the Service and these terms. If we make material changes to the terms, we’ll update this page and the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

October 8, 2026: adds section 10, the Family plan — the optional subscription, how it renews and how to cancel it.

October 9, 2026: sections 2 and 4 cover the pictures, clips and vet papers kept for a dog, and the storage a family shares.

October 15, 2026: sections 2, 4, 8 and 9 cover a dog’s book — what the people around her write in it, who reads it, who can change it, and that it spends nothing.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
